Art on the Square returns to Belleville, IL for annual show

Art on the Square comes back to downtown Belleville’s public square for its 20th show next weekend, May 13-15.

The annual art event features more than 100 artists from around the world and includes works in ceramics, glass, mixed media, painting, drawing/printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, fine craft, digital/graphic design, photography and wood.

In addition to the fabulous art, the three-day event will have live entertainment, food and wine court, craft beer, artist demos and a children’s area with projects for the kiddos.

Hours for the event are 4-9 p.m. Friday, May 13, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 15. Art on the Square is free and open to the public. No pets, please.

Now, first things first: The Food. (Shopping takes energy. It’s better to check out the art with a full belly.)

Shuttle Service:

A shuttle bus is scheduled to arrive at the Belleville Scheel Street MetroLink station 10 minutes before the Art on the Square start times each day. Round trips will be made every 15 minutes. The final trip each evening will leave from Main Street 20 minutes after the day’s scheduled end. The shuttle ends at East Main and North Jackson streets.
