You can see the Bethesda Fine Arts Pageant 2022 artists below.

You know what’s coming future – my awards for leading artists in the demonstrate.  As a outstanding juror, I can use my expert eye from the thumbnails and site visits to award the Campello awards.

For the painters I liked  Zhiyi Li (from Enfield, CT) in Booth #66, and Thomas Williams (from Chicago, IL) in Booth #78.

All a few printmakers in the clearly show are exceptional — I’ve prepared a lot about Joseph Craig English from Washington Grove, MD (Booth #84) – in this show John Pernell and Michael Nemnich are also rather superior.

For Mixed Media, my top choose was Sandra Sedmak Engel, whose sensual work is a satisfaction both to the eye and the eros that outdoor exhibits commonly attempt to remove.

There are a ton of proficient photographers in the exhibit. See them all here. James Richmond from Titusville, Florida (Booth #76) went to Cuba and has the required shots of old 1950s vehicles in Havana, as I recognize that the Cuban dictatorship will not let visitors (and photographers specially) to depart from the jailed island unless of course evidence is offered at the airport that photos of the classic cars and trucks have been taken.

Pet peeve aside, Richmond has an extraordinary eye for capturing the grace that is human sort, all the way from Portuguese card gamers in Aged Europe to stunning indigenous women in Panama, to Cuban farmers in the brutalized Castro Brothers’ Staff Paradise.

It is a excellent photograph, capturing the essence of the Cuban guajiro, his historical Basque bloodlines still pretty cleansing operating via his veins as evidenced by the telltale ear lobe, a vast smile for the American tourist on his skinny lips, and a hand-rolled Habano in his mouth, the envy of just about every smoker millionaire around the planet.

In the group of sculpture, Tanya Tyree caught my consideration as her sculptures battle concerning talented effectiveness and a bit of whimsy. What is crystal clear is a straight and exceptional vision remaining sent by the (I suspect) extremely sturdy and expert palms of this artist.

And the Campello decide on for Greatest in Clearly show?

It goes to painter Cassie Taggart from Rehoboth, DE in Booth #51.

When any individual can quickly see that Taggart’s operate take a look at surrealism, what she has brilliantly done is to supply a new 21st century version of surrealism, where her skilled portray talents marry it with fantasy, and the fantastical (which is diverse) as very well as a nutritious dose of narrative storytelling.

It is “otherworldly” artwork deeply anchored in information which lives concealed in our ancestral mind.  This is work which when you buy it and cling it in your residence, will dominate every thing else which you have hung on individuals walls.

Go exterior and see some artwork this weekend, talks to artists and artisans, take in some terrible-for-you food items and listen to some outside audio.
