pt. 2 Gallery is delighted to present Light-weight In Hand, a solo exhibition of new operates by Kelly Ording. In Ording’s third solo exhibition with the gallery, she hones her experimentations as way to spotlight the emotive features of shade. Delicate shapes, dyed paper and recurring kinds intersect across myriad relationships in Light in hand, united by uplifting and calming tones that permeate tenderness and joy. 

The human knowledge of recording time is not mechanical – as interpreted by Ording time is unconfined and particular. According to the conditions of our surroundings and of our temperament it passes in different ways. The centered, repetitive forms central to Ording’s oeuvre every have a special beginning and conclusion. Alongside the way way, they subtly vibrate with the waves and permutations of the artist’s deliberate and gentle touch, just about every mark distinctive in its individual way. Several of the foundational forms extensive repeated in Ording’s get the job done are sorts of open loops – rounded forms that portray the passage of time as fluid and ever switching. 

These open loops allude to emotional journeys. Sensuous, convex and rounded sorts mark the passage of joy and delight, as well as times of longing and reflection. The new performs in Mild in Hand talk predominately towards the previous, they exude lightness and tenderness in calming hues of cyan, goldenrod and mauve.
